The 5 baddest boys of the NBA past and present

Almost every game has some tough, dirty and downright bad players. These players want to win so desperately that they can forget about fair play or the value of team spirit. All they know is that they have to win. When they are out on the court they often get into fights with their opponents, they either push them or use their elbows to win the match, legally or illegally. Fans often hate these players for their behaviour (although some fans love them for it too!). Basketball scoreboards bring you some of the baddest boys that have played in the NBA over the years:

1. Anthony Mason

Anthony Mason is a retired player who played for several teams such as the New Jersey Nets, Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets. He was the most feared player of his time when he played basketball. He was extremely physical during the game and his hard playing nature grew more intense when he had to play against strong defenders.

2. Anderson Varejao

The basketball scoreboards show that Anderson Varejao currently plays for Cleveland Cavaliers. He is a Brazilian basketball player and is one of the dirtiest in the NBA. He is known for his wild style of play for which many people hate him. He is also known for his unique hairstyle. He usually dramatizes a foul and basically makes a mountain out of a molehill out of any small indiscretion.

3. Raja Bell

Raja Bell currently plays for the Utah Jazz. He is one of the bad boys of NBA who uses his elbows extremtly frequently, so his opponents always have to be on guard. He had a strong rivalry in his last game with Kobe Bryant and used his elbows to stop him from scoring a basket. He even clotheslined him in a game and was suspended afterwards for the infringement.

4. Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant plays for the Los Angeles Lakers. No doubt he is one of the best players in the NBA but he too uses his elbows often. He knows that pushing off and elbowing aren’t called readily thus he ends up doing this on a regular basis.

5. Bill Laimbeer

Bill Laimbeer is retired player who played for Detroit Pistons. Laimbeer was a fighter. There was hardly any player whom he didn’t fight with. Every time he was out on court, people knewthat he was out for blood. He fought with almost every player in every game which is why when Nintendo launched a basketball game they named it ‘Bill Laimbeer’s combat basketball.’
